Campaign notes: What’s experience worth?

A new ad from Ricky Gill’s campaign to unseat a three-term incumbent questions the worth of Rep. Jerry McNerney’s experience. Here’s the video.

“But for the Delta?” Gill asks in the ad. He answers:  “A stagnant economy, gas prices and health care costs soaring, and a national debt that burdens every family,” he answers. “We can’t afford Jerry McNerney’s experience any longer… It’s time for a fresh start.”

Also this week, Gill’s campaign released results of a poll that showed that Gill had a 1 percentage point lead over McNerney in the district. The lead is within the poll’s 4.9 percent margin of error. Among independent voters, Gill leads McNerney by 20 percentage points, according to the poll.
