Campaign notes: Record endorses Ransom

Rhodesia Ransom edged out Bob Elliott for The Record endorsement in the race for the the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisor’s Fifth District. It looked like a close call by The Record’s Editorial Board. Today’s editorial read:

“In our view, District 5 voters cannot make a mistake in this election. Both candidates are strong. We just believe Ransom is the stronger, more county-wise candidate who will bring more energy and a much-needed dose of diversity to a board long dominated by middle-aged white males.”

Both candidates came to interview with the Ed. Board at different times last month. The two are competing to replace Supervisor Leroy Ornellas in the only open seat on the board.
