Budget hearing highlights

Once I was able to get my technical issues cleared up, I started tweeting highlights from Day 1 of the San Joaquin County budget hearings. (The second-most anticipated  public meeting scheduled in Stockton today concerning government finances.)

Some of the highlights: For the first time, the cost of employee salaries and benefits went down from the previous year. And even if Stockton files for bankruptcy, the city plans to increase its share of the budget for the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library.
