Campaign notes: Bloody knuckles?

Bob Elliott’s campaign announced reaching a milestone in the race for the Fifth Supervisorial District seat on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. In walks through the south county district, volunteers have knocked on doors of 12,000 voter households, the campaign reports.

That’s a big piece of the voting population in the district, which has a little more than 50,000 registered voters, according to the campaign, too. The district is large, too. It contains all of Tracy and Mountain House, part of Manteca and everything else in between.

Elliott, a Tracy City Council member is running against Rhodesia Ransom, a Tracy Planning Commission member, and retired farmer and businessman Tom Benigno. The seat is open because Supervisor Leroy Ornellas is terming out.
