Juggalos on Nightline tonight
If you can stay up that late, check out Nightline’s feature of Insane Clown Posse and their fans who call themselves Juggalos.
I recently reported on a Stockton man whom prosecutors accused of hatcheting another on behalf of his gang affiliation, i.e. the Juggalos. A judge later ruled that the gang charge didn’t fly.

Judges’ Retirement System II

Presiding Judge
Since Jan. 1, 2010, San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Robin Appel has been the court’s presiding judge. She took over from Judge William Murray. It’s a two year gig, so she’ll be the court’s voice when it comes to administrative issues.

Deputy DA honored
In case you missed it, San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney Janet Smith was honored earlier this month among 10 local women with a Susan B. Anthony Award for her work. If her name sounds familiar, it may be because she prosecuted a slough of high-profile cases last year.

Caller: Pot helps my irritable bowel syndrome
This morning a 41-year-old man walked to The Record to seek justice because a judge in family law court had just taken his child from him. That is very sad and I'm sure the judge consideredthis seriously before ruling. I'm also certain that there is much more to the story than the brief blurb the man told me.
