Jamaica is hub for lottery scams

According to San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney Sherri Adams, lottery scams connected to Jamaica are rampant.

Be leery of someone calling you to say you won the Jamaican lottery — or any lottery for that matter — and asks you to send money in order to receive your winnings. There is no such thing.

The U.S. postal inspector has indicated the postal service is planning to post an inspector in Jamaica to help assist in tracking fraudulent lottery mail, Adams said.
