Attorneys today are in the thick of closing arguments in the trial of Kunta Rigmaden, a 16-year-old charged as adult with raping an 87-year-old woman who lives at O’Conner Woods.
This car, parked next to the Stockton courthouse, belongs to a relative of Rigmaden, who is the cousin of 16-year-old James Rivera. Stockton police officers, amid a pursuit stemming from a suspected carjacking last year, shot and killed Rivera, saying they felt Rivera threatened to run over them with a van he was driving.
Overseeing the Rigmaden trial is Judge Michael Garrigan. Deputy Public Defender Rose Cardoso represents Rugmaden up against Deputy DA Gina Della Maggiore.
Jurors are likely to be given the case today.
