Live updates of Academy Award winners
Live updates of the Academy Award winners avaliable here.
Academy Awards begin
Highlights so far:
Neil Patrick Harris in sparkles with a Broadway-like show number was great.
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were hilarious, especially when Martin referred to Helen Mirren as “Damn Helen Mirren” instead of “Dame Helen Mirren.” Oh, and their poking at George Clooney was awesome.
Oh and Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor for Inglourious Basterds.
How many times can you ask the same question?
And the Academy Award for the most overasked question of the night goes to: “What do you think of having 10 movies in the best picture category?”
It’s not the controversy the hosts are making it out to be.
Take your seats…
After interviewing a voice-challenged Quentin Tarantino (really, he sounds like he’s losing his voice), the Red Carpet live hosts are now talking to Matt Damon about “Invictus.”
And the loud speakers keep telling people it’s time to take their seats.
I wonder what happens to celebrities not in their seats when the show starts?
Red Carpet preshow wrapping up
The annoucement has just been made urging the actors/actresses present to find their seats.
ABC broadcast, on Channel 10 locally, begins at 5 p.m.
Is it just me…
or does Sigourney Weaver never age?
I’m suddenly remembering the Ghostbusters movies…

How Oscar is made
The Academy ran a montage of how the Oscars were made earlier in the broadcast. Here’s one from 2008. Same thing really.
‘Hi Emma,’ …. ‘I’m Jessica’
More reason to love Rico Rodriguez. He just mistook a young girl’s name, calling her Emma.
“I’m Jessica,” she responded.
“My bad,” he said.
This kid is really bringing the Red Carpet to life.
Renner talks on the Red Carpet
Jeremy Renner just hit the pre-show Q & A, getting a question from the Facebook crowd.
“It was hot,” he said when asked about filiming the movie.
He also talked about training with the guys at Fort Irwin and said it was a tremendous experience.
“We knew we had a great script, I knew I had the role [...]
