Man stabbed in head with screwdriver during fight

STOCKTON — A man told police he got into a fight about 8 p.m. in Gleason Park with a male “who was giving him a mean look,” according to a report.

Then, six or seven more assailants jumped in and attacked him and he ended up getting stabbed in the head with a screwdriver, police reported.

The victim walked home and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police described the victim as “uncooperative” and reported he provided very little information regarding the assault.

Man carjacked as he waited for family members who were shopping

STOCKTON — A carjacking occurred in downtown Stockton early Monday evening, Stockton police reported.

A man was sitting in his parked car, a black 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix (license 4MHT075) around 6 p.m. in the first block of North American Street waiting for family members who were shopping when two men approached on either side of the car, according to a report.

The carjacker on the driver’s side pointed a semiautomatic handgun at the victim’s head and demanded money while his accomplice got into the front passenger seat. When the victim told the carjackers he had no money, they told him to get out, according to police.

Once the victim was outside, one carjacker drove off in the Pontiac while the second carjacker drove away in a red Nissan Altima. The carjacker with the gun was white, in his late 30s, 5 feet 9 and 190 pounds, last seen wearing blue jeans and an old brown plaid shirt. His accomplice was a 5-foot-4, 160-pound man, police reported.
