Online Thanksgiving geekery

I’m a sucker for holidays. I’m not sure why, but when October rolls around I get really excited about family get togethers, days off and decorating.

It’s also the time of the year I start searching for things to do online to burn time. (I’m not one to sit idle.)

This past weekend, I turned to Google to see if I could find anything during a rare moment of down time.

I found quite a few things to do when the turkey is spending its last hour in the oven.

Want to talk like a pilgrim? This site has you covered. (Though I’m not entirely sure pilgrims talked like that.)

Need something to color? Here you go.

To old for coloring? Need something for the mature children in the room? Here are some activity sheets.

How about finding out more about the first Thanksgiving? There’s an interactive game for that.

Want to know more about the turkey on your table? This site has you covered.

How about putting together a jigaw puzzle without any mess? This one showcases a turkey on strike.

Can’t figure out how to deep fry your turkey? Let our video from 2008 be your guide.

Or maybe carving the turkey is giving you trouble? Check out this Consumer Reports video for help with that.

And that’s only what I found in a quick search.
