In January, I wrote a Money article about Tracy Virtual Office, a coworking community located on 11th Street in the south-county city.
Owner Mike Pihlman, or @AltamontCowork, recently moved the digs into a new space, just a door down, in the share-office building that also houses a restaurant and some other businesses. He’s also changed the name to better reflect the coworking community to Altamont Cowork.
I stopped by this morning to drop off a book Mike let me borrow, which I unfortunately never got to reading (Sorry Mike). Mike and coworker Tom Gardner where there this morning. I got to see the new office, which is much more open than the previous space. Joleen Ruffin from TracyIslandOnline.com also stopped by on her way to the State of the City address by Mayor Brent Ives.
The new space looks the size of the old, but gone are the walls separating coworkers. There’s a nice, open feel about the office, which includes three rooms – with brightly painted doors – where coworkers can still have privacy.
Want to check out the new space and see if the coworking environment is for you? TracyIslandOnline.com is hosting this month’s chamber mixer at the office from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Nonchamber members are welcome. Dress code is business casual. For more information, visit TracyIslandOnline.com.
