I popped in at BevMo! this early afternoon on its Grand Opening. I was far too late to see the long line outside of people hoping for the gift basket giveaway to the first 500 customers – but the store was bustling.
It’s a nice new store at 2418 Kettleman Lane, and several people looked to be stocking up on their favorite adult beverages for the weekend. The Record had $10 coupons for those who spent $50 or more in BevMo! ads this week.
I bumped into Lodi Wine Guy Jon Bjork when I was there. He was very excited to see BevMo! in town, and made another strong point.
“I think Trader Joe’s is keeping an eye on how well this store does,” Bjork said. “If this does well, they might change their minds about coming to Lodi.”
