LUSD’s Womack lists two endorsements

The campaign for Lodi Unified Trustee Ralph Womack’s re-election announced two endorsements from city leaders on Thursday.

According to a press release, Womack is being endorsed by Lodi Mayor Joanne Mounce and Lodi Police Chief Mark Helms.

Helms and Womack know each other well. Both were captains in the Stockton Police Department. Before becoming Lodi’s chief, Helms oversaw the Operations Peacekeeper gang preventionĀ  program that Womack has been in charge of since his retirement.

Mounce was quoted in the press release as being impressed by Womack’s “commitment to Lodi students.”

Womack is running for the Area 2 seat representing a portion of north Stockton, a seat he was appointed to fill after longtime Trustee Ken Davis abrublty resigned in 2011.
