LUSD foundation will net $35k from fundraiser

The Lodi Unified School District’s GOT Kids Foundation raised an estimated $35,000 by selling Fourth of July fireworks.

The non-profit – recently started to help raise money to supplement he district’s dwindling general fund – lucked out to be one of six non-profits allowed to set up fireworks booths.

Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Maintenance Art Hand said the booth was a success and sold a total of $77,000 in fireworks.

The district’s percentage after some overhead costs is expected to be around $35,000, Hand said.
