Students ask Santa to help charities
Sixth-grade students in Angie Parodi’s class at Mosher Elementary School in North Stockton wrote letters to Santa Claus asking the jolly big man to help out local charities this year instead of filling their stockings with toys.
The students touched on several local organizations in need. Here’s a look at some of the letters they wrote.

Trout Bout on Saturday
The 25th Annual Trout Bout takes place Saturday, Nov. 21. at Oak Grove Regional Park. Today, the county parks staff planted 2,500 trout at Oak Grove’s 10-acre lake for Saturday’s 6 a.m. start. UOP to host Safe Trick or Treat Oct. 28
University of the Pacific will host its 11th Annual Safe Trick or Treat 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 28. The event is free to children.
