Too Short and E-40 to play Modesto clubs on the same night
It’s set to go down Jan. 22, when rap legend Too Short is set to perform at The Palladium and hyphy godfather E-40 is scheduled to take the mic at Fat Cat. Hopefully, the shows are a sign that 2010 will be a great year for hip-hop fans in the 209.

Actress Brittany Murphy was a cordial star
TMZ.com first reported Sunday that actress Brittany Murphy was dead of an apparent cardiac arrest at her Hollywood home. She was only 32. The actress was well-known for roles in “Clueless,” “8 Mile,” “Riding in Cars with Boys” and “Girl, Interrupted.”

Students ask Santa to help charities
Sixth-grade students in Angie Parodi’s class at Mosher Elementary School in North Stockton wrote letters to Santa Claus asking the jolly big man to help out local charities this year instead of filling their stockings with toys.
The students touched on several local organizations in need. Here’s a look at some of the letters they wrote.
