Concerts and nightlife around the 209, Nov. 25-29
Thanksgiving Eve is typically a busy time for bars and clubs across the country, as working stiffs looking forward to a day off mix with college students home for the holidays to create a big crowd of party-goers. You’ll probably be able to have fun and see some interesting people at any bar around the [...]

Hip-hop heads probably best know KMEL as the home of Rick “The Dragon” [...]

Photos: Travis Vick and not an Airplane in Modesto
I had hoped, by now, to have a review of the new split seven-inch from Travis Vick and not an Airplane, “The City That Sleeps/Black Sheep.” However, when I came home from Saturday’s release party at Deva in Modesto with the album, I realized that the seven-inch adaptor for my turntable was missing.
My search for [...]
Nearly New Sale at Delta
Last year, I wrote about the Nearly New Sale at Delta College’s Danner Hall. After my story published, I went to check it out for myself.
Retailers from around town and beyond donate new or nearly new items to Delta’s Fashion Club for its fundraiser. Instructor Leslie Asfour teaches students fashion merchandising, pricing, staging, marketing and retail [...]
