Assembly Candidate Rico Oller this morning emailed a statement about his loss to fellow Republican Frank Bigelow of Mariposa County.
In it, Oller noted that a variety of political action committees tied to various Sacramento lobbyists outspent him by five-to-one in the general election.
Oller said he believes those groups favored Bigelow because they believe Bigelow is to “an Assemblyman they can influence.”
“I am deeply disappointed by the results,” Oller said. “I was looking forward to representing the foothills in the Assembly and protecting taxpayers. I want to thank those who supported my campaign.”
