Restaurants come and go, but I thought there was something eternal in the statement below from Scott Klan. I just got this in an emailed news release announcing the closure of The Kitchen at Newsome-Harlow, a restaurant on Main Street in Murphys owned by Scott and his wife Melanie. They decided to cease operating the business during a vacation. Here’s what Scott said:
“Sitting under the trees at Lake Alpine, Melanie and I realized just how all consuming the restaurant business is and how it has kept us from the things that are truly important to us: Spending time with family, friends and making great wines.”
